Control strategies of embedded fuel cell - supercapacitor hybrid source
Résumé
This paper proposes two innovative control strategies for a voltage regulated dc hybrid power source, employing PEM fuel cell as the main energy source and supercapacitors as the auxiliary power source. Both strategies are conceived with regard to constraints due to fuel cell dynamic limitation, in order to avoid gas starvation during transients. The first strategy is based on using supercapacitors during the gas flow establishment. The second strategy is based on a standard dc link voltage regulation using the storage device for supplying the required energy. The fuel cell is then considered as a standard load, working only in regenerative breaking in order to keep the storage device charged.
